Saint Bede Academy is a private, four-year, Catholic college-preparatory high school located in Peru, Illinois. The campus buildings and monastery are situated on 800 acres of wooded land. [ 2 ] The monastery is home to 12 Benedictine monks who have taken a vow of stability, meaning that they remain at Saint Bede Abbey for their lifetimes.
On January 12, 2012 the conference approved expansion for six schools to join the league beginning in the 2013-14 school year. Included in the expansion are Orion, Rockridge, Sherrard, Princeton, St. Bede Academy of Peru and Spring Valley Hall. The six additions make the Three Rivers a 15-team league, one of the largest in Illinois.

The school was established as co-ed (though classes were taught segregated by sex), contrary to Spalding and Academy which were separate at the time. [ 6 ] In 1988, Bergan's enrollment had declined to 587 and the diocese, under the direction of Bishop Edward O'Rourke, decided to consolidate the two schools to form Peoria Notre Dame High School.
In the succeeding years, the college opened additional courses that catered to the arts, humanities and other sciences. St. Bede Hall (the college building) was constructed in March 1996 and inaugurated on July 1, 1997, in time for the institution’s silver jubilee.
