I have the same issue. I can create a GIF with transparent background on https://gifmaker.me/ but could not in Canva. So I am downloading PNG with transparent background from Canva and then creating my GIF on gifmaker.me. But the GIFs from gifmaker.me are more than twice as heavy as from Canva, which is really not ideal.

For animated gifs with transparency, I draw and animate them in Clip studio, then export an image sequence and then load that into procreate to export a gif with transparency. It’s a bit of a tedious workaround, but it lets me do all the work on my iPad and not have to switch to a desktop computer.
Your background needs to be transparent. Find an image you like, cut out the background, pull onto AE and add puppets to mess with components, animate and export as gif. If you need specific components moving then you’ll need to cut out each item (ie arm, leg, head, etc.)
Photoshop > Save for Web is still I think pretty much the best tool out there for making transparent GIFs. GIFs only have 1-bit transparency. Pixels can either be transparent, or opaque - nothing in between. Depending on what you're intending to do with the resulting file, there may be a more modern format that's better suited to your task.
to make a transparent one, just don't use a background lol it's like that by default. if you want a background, then under the "animation" tab there's an option to "always display the first frame" or something like that (my version isn't in english ), and just make your first frame your background
How do I import a gif without converting it into a file format without an alpha channel? I have a transparent gif that I want to put over some footage on my timeline. It won't accept the gif, and I've tried converting the gif to AVI but that doesn't seem to be accepted either, even though I read that AVI was an accepted format.
There is no partial transparency in GIF. A pixel is either 100% opaque and of a certain color or it is 100% transparent. You can add more of the "almost white" colors to the list of those that are transparent, but you will always have a hard edge between the transparent pixels and the opaque pixels.
GIF as a format doesn't allow for partial transparency in the alpha channel. A pixel is either fully transparent, or fully opaque. That said, I honestly don't know if GIF with alpha is made available in Premiere. I checked the exporting settings for GIF and Animated GIF and didn't see anything regarding for alpha.
I've tried only converters to webm or webp but it either preserves the transparency or remains completely frozen when used in Foundry. Does anyone know of anyways to get the gif into a proper format for Foundry while preserving it's transparency? I have access to Photopea (online free photoshop I used to make the gif with) and Vegas Pro 14.0.
