The recent one is from Freedom Solar Power. The headquarters is in San Antonio TX, but local branch is in Tampa. I am having a hard time finding any credible information about the Tampa branch. Since there are many bad stories about companies installing solar panels, I would like to ask your thoughts and experiences. Thank you, Jan (Citrus Grove)

My electric bill is only $1,500 per year. So, $20K, invested at a 5 percent return, will pay my entire electricity cost for 22 years.
The results showed that the upfront cost, after the 30 percent tax credit, would be $12,489. This amount is supposed to be an average cost from four local solar contractors. The payback period is 16 years, and the total life cycle energy cost savings over 25 years would be $4,647.
SOLAR POWER: The new community discussion group, Preserve Our Environment (POE) will host a guest speaker at its Jan. 12 meeting who will discuss the workings of solar panels converting the sun's light energy into direct current (DC), then invert it into alternating current (AC), for use in a home.
Roof top solar users are still 100% dependent on the grid, even if their net usage is zero, because they will require power from the grid at night, when it is cloudy, and perhaps even when AC units kick on. So, they will still use grid-based power but not contribute to the costs associated with power plants and distribution networks.
If you are trying to save money, you cannot do it with a solar system. A solar company will give you a totally dishonest breakeven calculation that ignores the time value of money, and the maintenance costs to own a solar system. Save your money, buy a 5 percent CD, and use the interest to pay your electric bill.

The cost will be about $1250-$1500 installed. However there are Federal tax credits of 30%, those tax incentives include batteries if purchased at the same time. The expected life of those batteries due to solar charge will be upwards of 6 (six) years. You shouldn't need your charger or a battery minder.
Assume a 300 watt nominal solar panel: the average energy per day that the panel can generate if the cart is left outside all day unshaded would be about 1.2 kWh. This is essentially the integral under the solar curve for an average day in Florida. In the summer, it would be higher, in the winter it would be lower.
A solar tube is a 10- or 14-inch-diameter sheet-metal tube with a polished interior. The interior acts like a continuous mirror, channeling light along its entire length while preserving the light’s intensity. It captures daylight at the roof and delivers it inside your home.
