Dewa 19 (pronounced in Indonesian as Dewa Sembilan Belas) is an Indonesian rock band from Surabaya, East Java, led by singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani. Along with God Bless and Slank , they are dubbed as one of the greatest rock bands in the history of Indonesian popular music.
Republik Cinta is the 8th studio album by Dewa 19 and was released in January 2006 in Indonesia; the title translates into "Republic of Love". The album reached #1 on the Indonesian album charts and has since been released in other Asian territories including Malaysia and a Chinese release via EMI in Hong Kong.
After his dismissal from Dewa 19, Lasso became a solo singer. [4] He released his first solo album, the commercially successful Sendiri Dulu , that year which sold over 500.000 copies.
