Bhrigu (Sanskrit: भृगु, IAST: Bhṛgu) is a rishi of Adi-rishi tradition. He is one of the seven great sages, the Saptarshis, and one of the many Prajapatis (the facilitators of creation) created by Brahma. [1] The first compiler of predictive astrology and also the author of Bhrigu Samhita, an astrological classic.
The basic concept of Nadi Astrology is "Nadi" (nāḍi). There are 150 Nādis in a sign or Rāshi (Rāsi); one sign is 30 degrees of the zodiac 360. Twelve signs of the zodiac are grouped into three categories: Moveable (Chara), Fixed (Sthira), and Dual (Dvisvabhāva) signs.
Bhrigu's ashram 'Deepostak' was located near Dhosi Hill in present-day Haryana-Rajasthan border in India. Major parts of the Bhṛgu Saṃhitā were lost or destroyed. Bhrigu was the first compiler of predictive astrology. [3] He compiled an estimated 500,000 horoscopes and recorded the life details and events of various people.

Wikipedia can only contain factual information. It cannot be emphatically stated that the Nadi manuscripts are 2500 years old. Most of the sources quoted are online Nadi astrology sites which are hardly credible. Gs44631 18:28, 26 February 2010 (UTC) I have personally visited 3 Nadi astrologers and their predictions were totally different.

Bhavartha Ratnakara does not cover the entire Phalita portion of Hindu astrology as do other standard texts but selectively lists rules some of which are not to be found in other more renowned texts e.g. the rule which states that a person will be fortunate in respect of that bhava whose karaka is situated in the 12th house from the Ascendant.
