The Gosby House Inn, in Pacific Grove, California, is a two-story Victorian mansion that was built in 1887 by J.F. Gosby.The Inn evolved architecturally in stages, from a vernacular boarding house serving a religious retreat to a Queen Anne hotel catering to vacationers.
The hotel was built for retired businessman Samuel S. Parsons for $300,000 (equivalent to $5,163,158 in 2023). The C. L. Wold Company construction company of San Francisco was the builder. It was under construction when it was unveiled on July 1, 1926. It is located on two blocks at 551 Gibson Avenue and Forest Avenue, in Pacific Grove. [3] [1] [4]

El Carmelo Hotel was Pacific Grove's first hotel, opened to guests on May 20, 1887. It was sometimes called the sister of the Hotel Del Monte. It was located on Lighthouse Avenue between Fountain and Grand Avenues, Pacific Grove and owned by the Pacific Improvement Company (PIC). In 1907, the name of the hotel changed to the Pacific Grove Hotel.
The 107-acre (43 ha) site is located in Pacific Grove and offers overnight lodging and views of the forest, surf and sand. Asilomar (meaning "Asylum or refuge by the sea" and pronounced a-SIL-o-mar) [1] is a combination of two Spanish words: "asilo" and "mar". It is part of the native homeland of the Rumsen Ohlone people.
Also known as the Pacific Grove Inn, it was built in 1904. It was the home of city civic leader Frank LaVerne Buck (1849-1931), a native Midwesterner who was involved in the dairy and egg businesses.
