On August 4, 2022, LAFC was named as one of 7 MLS-affiliated clubs that would field a team in the MLS Next Pro league beginning in the 2023 season. LAFC launched a reserve team, Los Angeles FC 2 (or LAFC2), for the 2023 season of MLS Next Pro. The team plays at Titan Stadium and is currently coached by Junior Gonzalez.
