In 1880, the Idaho Register was established [3] and the Idaho Post was first published in 1903. [3] M. B. Yeaman and W. S. Snyder purchased the Idaho Falls Times from S. W. Dennis and merged it with their Register to form the Idaho Falls Times-Register in 1920.
The site of the Post Falls Dam was previously home to a 20-foot wooden diversion dam built by pioneer settler and namesake of Post Falls, Frederick Post, who purchased the land from Chief Andrew Seltice of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe for $500 in 1871. [5] Post built his original dam to power a sawmill on the north channel of the river. [2]
In 1999, Church Development Fund stepped in to buy 33 acres (130,000 m 2) of land in Post Falls, through its Advanced Land Purchase program, in order for the church to build a facility to serve the 850 in weekly attendance at that time. The church moved into a 26,000-square-foot (2,400 m 2) building on that property in 2001, but quickly outgrew it.
Post Falls High School is a public secondary school in located in Post Falls, Idaho. Established in 1912, the current campus of PFHS opened 24 years ago in 2000; [ 2 ] it is the only traditional high school in the Post Falls School District.
