When attending Conference meetings, each ruler and governor is accompanied by the Menteri Besar or Chief Minister (for states with a governor) of their state. When the Yang di-Pertuan Agong attends, they are accompanied by the Prime Minister. Every meeting of the Conference is chaired by one of the nine Malay rulers, who is appointed rotationally.
