Clarksville City is located in northwestern Gregg County along U.S. Route 80, 10 miles (16 km) west of Longview and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east of Gladewater. The city is bordered by Gladewater to the west, Warren City to the northwest, and White Oak to the east. Lake Deverina on Campbell Creek is in the southern part of Clarksville City.
Prospect is situated on Texas State Highway 188.It was established in the early 1880s, and was used as a trade center for farmers and ranchers. A post office was established in 1893, and closed after 1930.

Fort Clark was a frontier fort located just off U.S. Route 90 near Brackettville, in Kinney County, Texas, United States. It later became the headquarters for the 2nd Cavalry Division . The Fort Clark Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 1979. [ 3 ]
