Conneaut (/ ˈ k ɒ n i ɔː t / [4] KON-ee-awt) is the northeastern most city in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, as well as the entire state as a whole. Located in the Cleveland metropolitan area , it is settled along Lake Erie at the mouth of Conneaut Creek 66 miles (106 km) northeast of Cleveland .
At about 336 miles (541 km) in length, it is the longest state route in Ohio. [5] Its southern terminus is an interchange with U.S. Route 52 (US 52) just west of Chesapeake . Its northern terminus also serves as the eastern terminus of SR 531 in Conneaut .
Within the state of Ohio, the route runs from the Indiana border near Edon to the Pennsylvania border at Conneaut. The route passes through rural areas west of Toledo and passes through Public Square in Cleveland. It is one of nine other routes to enter Downtown Cleveland at Public Square, and it serves some of Cleveland's northeastern suburbs.
