De La Cruz were formed in mid-2011 by Australian guitarist and Kramer Guitars endorsee Casey Jones, [1] and Auckland, New Zealand born vocalist Roxxi Catalano. The band recruited Melbourne based drummer Lacey Lane, Brisbane Guitarist Rory Joy and local bass player Dennis Jaculli.
Wally Gonzalez (December 27, 1949 – July 23, 2021) was a Filipino bluesman, guitarist and proponent of Pinoy Rock.Gonzalez formed and led the Juan de la Cruz Band which, with the collaboration of bassist-vocalist Mike Hanopol and drummer-vocalist Pepe Smith, rose to unprecedented national prominence as a power trio.
This band, founded in 1978, featured American Katrina Leskanich on vocals and keyboards, and fellow American, Vince de la Cruz on vocals and lead guitar. During a school production at RAF Lakenheath, Vince had noticed Katrina, and asked her to join his band. [2] By late 1980, Alex Cooper had joined the band on drums, with Bob Jakins on bass.
