Ulverston is a market town and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. Historically in Lancashire , it lies a few miles south of the Lake District National Park and just north-west of Morecambe Bay , within the Furness Peninsula .

Chapel Island is a limestone outcrop that lies in the Leven estuary of Morecambe Bay in England, less than one mile (1.6 km) from the shoreline at Bardsea in the area known as Ulverston Sands. It is located at 54°10′27″N 3°02′30″W / 54.1741°N 3.0416°W / 54.1741; -3.0416 ( OS grid ref. SD 321759
Sir John Barrow Monument (colloquially known as The Hoad) is a 100-foot (30 m) tower at the top of the 436-foot (133 m) Hoad Hill, near Ulverston in Cumbria, England. [1] [2] It commemorates Sir John Barrow (1764-1848), who was born in Ulverston. [3] It was built in 1850 at a cost of £1250, the cost being met mainly by public subscription.

It is located 1.7 miles (2.7 km) by road to the east of the centre of Ulverston. [1] Its name comes from its location being where the Ulverston Canal meets the Estuary. Canal Foot is best known for its massive GlaxoSmithKline Plant, located in the former North Lonsdale Ironworks which ceased production in 1938.
Greenodd is a village in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England, 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Ulverston. At the northern end of the Furness peninsula, it was historically part of Lancashire. Greenodd sits within the civil parish of Egton with Newland at the junction of the A5092 and A590.
