Donald Edwin Young was born on June 9, 1933, in Meridian, Sutter County, California, the second of three sons of Russell Lawhead "Cy" Young Sr. and Arlene Marcella Bucy. [3] [4] He earned an associate's degree in education from Yuba College in 1952 and a bachelor's degree from Chico State College in 1958.
Donald Wayne Young (October 18, 1945 – November 21, 2024) was an American former professional baseball player. He played two seasons in Major League Baseball in 1965 and 1969, primarily as a center fielder. Young was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1963.
