Onondaga County (/ ˌ ɒ n ə n ˈ d ɑː ɡ ə / ON-ən-DAH-gə) is a county in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 476,516. [1] The county seat is Syracuse. [2] The county is part of the Central New York region of the state. Onondaga County is the core of the Syracuse Metropolitan Statistical Area.
On June 30, the "Cobb Direct Nominations bill" was defeated in the Assembly by a vote of 80 to 63. [9] On July 1, the State Senate also defeated the Cobb bill, with a vote of 25 for and 19 against it (one vote short of the necessary 26 to approve). The Legislature enacted a "Progressive Inheritance Tax bill", and then adjourned. [10]
A Republican, Antonacci served as Onondaga County Comptroller from 2008 to 2018. He was the Republican nominee for New York State Comptroller in 2014 , losing to incumbent Democrat Tom DiNapoli . He was elected to the New York State Senate in New York's 50th State Senate district in 2018.
