I Remember Mama is a 1948 American drama film directed by George Stevens from a screenplay by DeWitt Bodeen, whose work was adapted from John Van Druten's stage play. Druten, in turn, had based his play on Kathryn Forbes ' novel Mama's Bank Account , which was originally published by Harcourt Brace in 1943.
In the 1940s, he appeared on Broadway in I Remember Mama, On Whitman Avenue, A Young Man's Fancy, and Summer and Smoke. He also starred as the Video Ranger on DuMont's Captain Video and His Video Rangers (1949 to 1955) and as Jack Lane on the CBS soap opera The Edge of Night (1956 to 1960).
Other radio appearances included playing Chris in the Lux Radio Theatre production of I Remember Mama [7] and an episode of Mr. President with Edward Arnold. [8] Her sole film credit was as young Violet Bick in the 1946 film classic It's a Wonderful Life. [9] [10] She also starred in the unaired television pilot Arabella's Tall Tales. [11] [12]
