La Blanca is a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican archaeological site in present-day La Blanca, San Marcos Department, western Guatemala. It has an occupation dating predominantly from the Middle Preclassic (900–600 BC) period of Mesoamerican chronology. This site belongs to the later period of the Mokaya culture.
San Marcos is one of the most important regions in Guatemala given its proximity to the highlands, Mexico and to the Pacific Ocean coast, where most of the drugs coming from South America land. Ortiz exerted influence over local politicians and police in the region, and relied on a powerful local support network to conduct his business.
The museum was founded in 2000 as part of the Centro Cultural La Azotea. The exhibition covers all stages of coffee production including cultivation, harvest, roasting and trade. The collection includes milling machines from different parts of the world.

After being annexed by the First Mexican Empire in 1821, the Federal Republic of Central America was founded in 1823, which included the present day San Marcos region of Guatemala. The department was created by a governmental decree on 8 May 1866, together with Huehuetenango , Izabal and Petén departments. [ 2 ]
La Blanca is a municipality in the San Marcos department of Guatemala on the Pacific Ocean shore. It was created on 23 January 2014, when it was split from Ocos, along with Chiquirines and Pueblo Nuevo villages and became San Marcos Department thirtieth municipality. [3] When created in 2014, La Blanca had about 25,000 inhabitants. [3]

Cultural (ii) (iii) 2023 Tak’alik Ab’aj is an archaeological site located on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala. Its 1,700-year history spans a period that saw the transition from the Olmec civilization to the emergence of Early Mayan culture.
