The name is taken from Radin Inten II (1834–1858), the last Sultan of Lampung (possibly a vassal of the Banten Sultanate). It is on the Jalan Branti Raya in Branti, Natar, northwest of Bandar Lampung in the South Lampung Regency. The airport serves the Lampung area, as it is currently the only commercial airport in the Lampung province.

All passenger trains serving the Kertapati–Tanjung Karang route stopped at this station to pick up and drop off passengers. With the completion of Cempaka–Kotabumi double track project on 9 December 2020, [ 3 ] all freight trains are required to stop at the station for 2-5 minutes with the enactment of the 2021 southern Sumatra train schedule.
