HTV2, a television channel, was launched on October 10, 2003, as an experimental broadcast on channel 30 UHF. It was accompanied by channels HTV1 and HTV3, and initially aired for nine hours a day. However, starting from November 1, 2003, HTV2 officially extended its broadcast hours to run from 6 am to 24 hours daily. The channel is owned by HTV.
The company was founded in 1943 by radio design engineer Robert L. Drake. The company began as a manufacturer of low pass and high pass filters for the government and amateur radio market, and after World War II, produced amateur radio transmitters and receivers and communications receivers for maritime mobile service.
The 6DJ8 was designed for use as a low-noise amplifier in VHF and UHF TV tuners, an improved successor to the usual 6BK7, but due to its high gain it was heavily used in high-end test equipment, for example, most high-quality oscilloscopes from the 1950s to the 1960s utilize a number of 6DJ8 tubes.

In 2017 Elecraft introduced the KPA1500, a 1500 watt (full legal limit) amplifier. The KPA1500 covers the 160 through 6 meter bands. Its key feature is a built-in wide-range antenna tuning unit (ATU). The amplifier's power supply is housed in a separate enclosure, resulting in a relatively compact RF deck/control unit.
