Robert Allen Sedler (September 11, 1935 – January 4, 2025) was an American law professor and attorney, who taught at Wayne State University Law School for over 40 years, specializing in Constitutional law. [1] [2] Sedler began teaching at Wayne Law in 1977, prior to which he was a professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.
As a lawyer, he has argued cases in federal courts of appeals and before the Supreme Court, including a 5–4 victory in Rosenberger v. University of Virginia. [5] He is widely regarded as one of the preeminent constitutional law scholars on the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses. [6] [7]
