Bobby Manuel (born November 13, 1945) is an American guitarist.In the early 1960s he was the lead guitarist for the local band, The Memphis Blazers. He was hired by Stax Records in the late 1960s as an engineer and also quickly began doing studio work as a guitarist, becoming one of the company's most dependable and oft-used session players.
After high school, he went on to study classical guitar at Rhodes College in Memphis from 1984-1985. After Rhodes, Steorts studied Music production at Memphis State (now University of Memphis ) from 1985-1988, and finished at University of Memphis in 1993 with a master's degree in composition and a BFA in commercial music-recording technology.
In 1978, he started working at Wayne Charvel's guitar repair shop in Covina, California (while using a PO Box in neighboring San Dimas).
