Jake Hartford (born Jim Edwards, December 1, 1949 – January 12, 2013), was a talk radio host who anchored the 9-11 a.m. slot on 89 WLS with Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass. Hartford had been a personality on WLS-AM 890 since 1991 with a regular Saturday morning show called "Awake with Jake," as well as performing various fill-in duties.
John Kass (born June 25, 1956) is an American columnist and former editorial board member for the Chicago Tribune and radio broadcaster. [1] Until summer 2020, his opinion pieces regularly appeared on page 2 of the main news section of the Tribune, instead of on the opinion/editorial pages; [2] [3] this is the spot formerly occupied by Mike Royko.
Cohn co-hosted with John Kass 9-11am weekdays at WLSAM890. After Kass/Cohn's radio show ended on Thursday, February 26, 2015, they were both shown the door in yet another WLS programming shakeup, according to blogger Robert Feder. Cohn will be given the opportunity to audition as a possible cohost with morning show host John Howell.
