imagic · Oct 1, 2020 · Edited Oct 6, 2020. Have you searched the Internet for projectors recently. If so, it’s a certainty that you’ve come across a slew of LED projectors priced at around $200, touting HD compatibility, 50,000 hour LED light source, and list brightness in “lux” instead of “lumens” but often “mistakenly” list ...
Increase Lumens on Ultra Cheap Projector. I wound up on a link in YouTube that talked about these Ultra Cheap projectors. I ended up picking up an Abdtech 130" Mini LED Projector for $75 of Amazon. Now, I realize that the projector is only 480p, and pretty much garbage by everyone's standards; but my question is.

Ultimea Apollo P40 projector and other cheap projectors. Just bought an Apollo P40 projector on Amazon. Price is $250 after instant discount. Its a 1080P LED projector that accepts 4K HDR10 signals. I set it up with a 100" screen, and was actually surprised how bright it was (700 ansi lumens was the rating) during the day with my curtains drawn ...
So I am thinking of doing a second projector just for 3D duty. I was thinking an older Epson 5050 or 4010 etc. BUT, then I got thinking that maybe a DLP with a lot of lumens might be worth considering. I know DLP has the best pixel response time which is important in keeping the left and right eye separate and minimizing crosstalk.
With a $400 budget, I'd almost put 50% towards sound, 40% towards projector, and 10% towards screen ($30 grommeted Vinyl screen is cheap and easy if you don't need free-standing). I'd shop used for everything, maybe try to find some passive PA speakers for L/R, or at least something above-average in sensitivity.
Trust me, don't settle on "cheap." In a couple months of owning that "cheap" projector, you'll want to upgrade. Buy something that'll stay with you for a couple of years. The image on a $700 dollar projector (used on Ebay IF you can find 'em) vs. a new $1,400 projector is pretty dramatic. Best of luck. Phreak.
Mini Review: Apeman LC650 1080P LED LCD Projector. The Apeman LC650 is a simple, cheap LED-LCD 1080p projector that sells for under $200 on Amazon (after applying a $50 coupon). It claims compatibility with 4K input signals and a 50,000 hour lamp life.
The manual says that the projection distance is 1.26-10.5 meters which this is within. I also don’t think it’s a problem with the source considering the issue is the same with the projector’s menus. Either moisture in the lens or the lens alignment to the chip dlp or prism lcd is out. For moisture you could try putting it in a dry warm ...

For the record, I grabbed this under $100 projector when it was $50 at Target. I use it as a backyard projector to watch movies when the weather is nice. It works fine for what I need.
