15. Jul 10, 2018. #1. Hey there everyone, I just want to give everyone a heads up warning about a manufacturer that claims to produce high end rifles. Christensen Arms. I purchased a CA BA Tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor 26" Carbon fiber barrel. This is a $2,700 Rifle, not to mention i put a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27X56.

Its less than 6 pounds, shoots subMOA and you can pick them up for 550-650. You dont need the extra weight, hassle and length of a can while covering miles of open ground.
Christensen Modern Precision Rifle. I'd have to look back to be sure, but I think the I sold the barreled action in the $13-1400 range. I bought an Origin at 10% off, ~$745, when Brownell's still allowed the coupons on them. I then purchased a Proof Origin Pre-fit for $730. In my case, ~$150-200 net upgrade cost.
TEST 1: 147gr ELD Match #81501. Left two targets are CTR, right two are MPR (f*cking first shot is almost always a flyer, neither rifle loved it) TEST 2: Hornady 143gr ELD-X Precision Hunter #81499. Top two CTR (I f*cked that left target), bottom two were MPR. TEST 3: Hornady 140gr ELD Match #81500.
I took a brand new 7prc Christensen FFT to the range for the break in process. First shot with Hornady factory ammo, I got the following pressure signs: completely blown out primer, ejector marks with sharp edges where brass flowed into ejectors, really heavy bolt lift (could still work bolt with one hand, just really had to reef on it).
I was leaning toward a custom rifle, but I ran across the Christensen Arms Mesa Long Range. It seems to be about right and runs $1,400 out the door. That being said, $1,400 isn't a bad deal for a turnkey rifle with a brake, lower-end TT trigger, and an acceptable stock. I shoot competitively, so I am used to nice rifles and realize this would ...
Missouri. Dec 7, 2018. #15. I've had the chance to shoot both a Bergara Premier LRP Elite and a Chistensen TFM in the past year (more experience with the TFM), so here's my brief comparison between the two: Christensen Pros: - Very lightweight, with a beefy scope (TT525P) the whole thing was still under 10 lbs.
Apr 2, 2018. #1. Apr 2, 2018. #1. I didn't see many reviews when I decided to purchase this so I figured I'd make a thread of my initial review and later update it once I get some more time with it. Model: Christensen Arms MPR 26 inch 6.5 Creedmoor. Initial unboxing showed that it was well packaged, and pretty well covered in a light grease.
Re: Christensen Rifles? There is one for sale local here in the 300WSM flavor. $1800 it looks used but hard to guage how much. Guy was saying the recoil sucked on it but I have shot the 300RUM and 300WSM in these rifles and the lack of recoil is amazing. Accuracy in the ones I shot was 1/2" 3 shot groups nearly every time.
The Tikka is a great rifle, but if you want it to do double duty, the MPR is around 2 lbs lighter. It also takes AICS mags instead of proprietary $100 Tikka mags. The Tikka is basically a complete PRS rig right out of the box, just make sure you get a mount with 20 MOA worth of cant since it's a 0 MOA rail.
