Greta Morgan Salpeter (born February 12, 1988) is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. [1] Her career began in 2005 as singer/pianist of the Chicago-based band The Hush Sound. [2] She later formed the band Gold Motel, whose debut album was released on June 1, 2010. [3]
The Hush Sound was founded by Greta Salpeter and Bob Morris. The two met when Greta was in 7th grade and Bob was in 10th. Bob had always been a player and performer of rock music, whereas Greta was a classical pianist. The band formed in late 2004/early 2005, while writing songs they felt worthy of publication.
With tracks such as "Honey" and "Medicine Man", The Hush Sound shows influence of blues, swing, and folk.
