Oulu sub-region is a subdivision of Northern Ostrobothnia and one of the sub-regions of Finland since 2009. The Oulu region has a population of 264,143, making it the fourth largest region in Finland after Helsinki , Tampere and Turku .

The city of Oulu is located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of the center of Tyrnävä. The most important product of Tyrnävä is potatoes .
