The table tennis tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris ran from 27 July to 10 August at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. [1] [2] A total of 175 table tennis players, with an equal distribution between men and women, competed across five medal events (two per gender and a mixed) at these Games, the exact same amount as those in the previous editions.
Table tennis competition has been in the Summer Olympic Games since 1988, with singles and doubles events for men and women. [1] [2] Athletes from China have dominated the sport, winning a total of 66 medals in 42 events, including 37 out of a possible 42 gold medals, and only failing to win at least one medal in one event, the inaugural men's singles event at the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Table tennis has been included in the Olympic programme since 1988. Denmark has won one medal in the sport; Michael Maze and Finn Tugwell won bronze in men's doubles in 2004 . Denmark's best placement in a women's event in the sport was shared 33rd by Mie Skov in women's singles in 2012 .
In the semi-finals, the Danish team won against the Spanish team 27–23, qualifying Denmark for the final. In the final, the Danish team went up against the French team. Denmark's Olympic Committee was established in 1905. In 1912, it took over the confederation's organisational responsibilities for the Olympic games. In 1993 the two independent organizations were again merged. As a result of the merger, the combined organization became known as Danmarks Idrætsforbund. [3]
