LaRue, sometimes written as La Rue, is a village in Marion County, Ohio, United States. The population was 676 at the 2020 census. The village is served by Elgin Local School District. LaRue has a public library, a branch of Marion Public Library. [4] LaRue was named for Major William LaRue, who founded the town on June 3, 1851. [5]
Montgomery Township is one of the fifteen townships of Marion County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 2,064 people in the township; 676 lived in the village of LaRue and 413 lived in the village of New Bloomington.

In 1997, which was the 75th anniversary of the team's founding, the Marion County Historical Society erected an Ohio Historic Marker on the site of the Oorang Indians' practice field in LaRue, Ohio.
