Embakasi East is a constituency in Kenya. It is one of seventeen constituencies in Nairobi , with an area of 64.70 km 2 (25.0 sq mi). [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Embakasi East includes five electoral wards: Upper Savannah, Lower Savannah, Embakasi, Utawala and Mihango.
Pipeline is located approximately 9.5 kilometres (5.9 mi) southeast of Nairobi's central business district, west of the Outer Ring Road within the Eastlands area in Embakasi. It borders another slum, Mukuru kwa Njenga , other low-income to low middle-income such as Fedha and Kware , and the middle class suburb of Imara Daima .

The constituencies of Kenya are used to elect members of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the Kenyan Parliament.In accordance with Article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, there are 290 constituencies, based on a formula where these constituencies were to be delineated based on population numbers.
It is part of the Embakasi division. Surrounding neighbourhoods include slums such as Kariobangi , Baba Dogo, Gitare Marigo and Korogocho . Dandora was established in 1977, with partial financing by the World Bank in order to offer a higher standard of housing.
Prior to the 2013 general election, Kasarani was divided into four constituencies: Kasarani, Roysambu Constituency, Ruaraka Constituency, and part of Embakasi North Constituency. [1] [2] Regions such as Kamulu, Njiru and Ruai, were hived off from the now defunct Embakasi Constituency and combined to the remaining part of Kasarani Constituency.
