George Randolph Hearst III (born 1955) is the publisher and CEO of the Times Union newspaper in Albany, New York, a director of the Hearst Corporation and a member of the wealthy Hearst family. He is the second child of George Randolph Hearst Jr. and Mary Astrid Thompson and great-grandson of William Randolph Hearst .
Of the other seven only two, the Albany Institute of History & Art and the Palace Theatre, are purpose-built for their continuing role. The Institute, the city's major museum, is joined by three historic house museums and the Slater in that function. Lastly, the Washington Avenue Armory is now used for some concerts. [28]
It was the first library building in the city, and the beginning of Albany's current public library system. [2] By 1977 the library had grown to the point that it moved out of the building. A small bookstore operated out of a small portion of the rear basement. [5] After over a decade, the city decided to sell the building in 1990.
