Blanks are made by cutting a 2-by-6 on a diagonal (photo 2): Make the narrow end 1-1/2 inches wide and that ensures a width of about 4 inches on the wide end. If you cut the first pair carefully, you’ll have blanks to use as guides for the rest. Nailing a cleat on the pattern blank will keep everything in line as you saw each 2-by-6.

Not sure if this has been posted here before, worth it again. Wild Bill's is up in the hills above me just below Shaver Lake. This is the best collection of windmills I have ever seen. Most are working and more are to come from what I see. I needed a part and he was nice enough to supply me with it. He also has an "old town" built next to it.

Re: Restoration or Repair. by LoTec » Tue Jan 09, 2024 6:13 pm. My standards for windmill repair/restoration: Whether or not it pumps, it must: 1. Be safe. No parts about to fall off on your head. So, all fasteners tight, no broken or badly worn or rattly parts. Tower straight, plumb, and solid (no loose or missing components).

In fact, my mentor and probably the “go to guy” for most of you, Ken has been providing the 702 windmill for a very long time. If you like to refurbish old windmills, that is great. If you are a direct Aermotor dealer, that is good also. This is just a different path to keep windmills alive.

I’ve done as much research as I can do and it appears to be a U.S. Wind Engine and Pump Co. mill. I’d really like to identify the model and figure out about how old it is to decide if I’m going to sell. Here’s the info I have (photos attached): - the tail has the visible large US, but the rest is pretty rusted and can’t be made out.

Contaminants in Non Detergent oil will settle to the bottom of the reservoir and remain until the oil is changed. Detergent oils came into use when oil filters were added to machines, engines, etc. Detergent oils keep contaminants suspended in oil so they ...

On the farm there is an old Aeromotor windmill that has been there for over 100 years. It is a well known landmark in town, that has not turned in many years, but we are interested in replacing the head with a new vintage looking head and wheel that will generate electricity.
