Wheaton is a city in and the county seat of DuPage County, Illinois, United States. [5] It is located in Milton and Winfield Townships , approximately 25 miles (40 km) west of Chicago . As of the 2020 census, Wheaton's population was 53,970, making it the 27th-most populous municipality in the state.
Rauner was born in Chicago and grew up in Deerfield, Illinois, [4] a suburb 10 miles north of Chicago city limits. His mother, Ann (née Erickson) Rauner (1931–2011), [5] was a nurse, and his father, Vincent Rauner (1927–1997), [6] was a lawyer and senior vice president for Motorola.
The city council establishes policy that is administered by a full-time city manager. City council members serve four-year terms, and the city manager and city clerk are appointed by the city council. The mayor is Laurin Wheaton, and the four other city council members are Vice Mayor Luke Eldridge, Ali Bagci, Chad Gilbert, and Eric Walker.
