Examine the mating side of the connector to be sure the contacts make a good connection with the coil pack. Trace the wiring harness back to be sure it's not rubbing against anything which may have damaged it. Trace it back to the computer. With that many coil packs, I'm pretty sure it's upstream of there.

Measure the resistance of the spring from one end, to the end of the resistor pellet (looks like a tiny fuse or capsule usually). You should have somewhere between 800-1200ohms resistance. If you just have a plain spring, or if the resistance is below 800 or so, that's why you're blowing out coils.

The only thing I can think of is excessive plug gap. That raises the voltage the coil has to generate and puts more stress on it's internal insulation. I don't know what signals are fed it the coil pack - I suppose it's possible that something is wrong and it's stressing it. My gap is at .033 if I remember correctly.

A properly layered wound coil of the correct AWG with vacuum impregnated varnish would never burn up. Using under sized wire random wound is when problems started to occur. With a misfiring spark plug, first thing to take a beating is a zener diode that protects the gated bipolar transistor.
