The current Chief of Army (Malay: Panglima Tentera Darat — PTD) is General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan, who succeeded General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman on September 6, 2023, who was also appointed as the new Chief of Defence Forces (Malaysia) on the same day. [1]
Mohammad Ab Rahman was born on 15 March 1964 in Machang, Kelantan.He received his early education at Sekolah Menengah Sains Kelantan before continuing his studies at the Royal Military College in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, in 1980.

Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan [1] (born 18 April 1968) is a Malaysian military officer who currently serves as the 30th Chief of Army since September 2023. Prior to his appointment, he previously served as the Deputy Chief of Army from April 2023 to September 2023.
Zulhelmy joined the Royal Malaysian Navy as an Officer Cadet on 6 August 1986, and was commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant on 1988. [1]Among the positions he had held throughout his service include Commander of KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, Commander of RMN Submarine Training Centre and was both deputy commander and subsequently commander of RMN Submarine Force.
As a dedicated leader, he was appointed deputy army commander on 2 June 2008 – serving until 20 May 2010 upon which he was appointed Chief of Army (Malay: Panglima Tentera Darat — PTD).
