Tempest 4000 is a shoot 'em up video game developed by Llamasoft and published by Atari, Inc. It is a modern reimagining of the classic arcade game Tempest , which was released in 1981. In Tempest 4000 , players control a spaceship and navigate through a series of increasingly challenging levels while fighting off waves of enemies.
In 1940 R&H bought a controlling interest in the well-known Paxman diesel engine company of Colchester in Essex. In the later stages of the war, Paxman built 4,000 diesel engines that powered all the British-built tank landing craft (LCT) on D-Day. It supplied diesel engines for British Rail locomotives in the 1960s.
In July 2018, Tempest 4000 was released for multiple platforms. [18] Minter also wrote two games inspired by Tempest: Space Giraffe (2007) and TxK (2014). After TxK was released for the PlayStation Vita, the current incarnation of Atari blocked release of the game for additional platforms [19] until it was reworked as Tempest 4000 some years later.
