North Hempstead (officially known as the Town of North Hempstead) is one of three towns in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 237,639 at the time of the 2020 census. [2] It is the 7th largest city or town in New York by population.
It includes portions of the town of Hempstead, including Bellmore, North Bellmore, Wantagh and Merrick. A portion of Jones Beach is within this district. [2] The district overlaps New York's 3rd and 4th congressional districts, and overlaps the 5th and 6th districts of the New York State Senate.
