The Platinum Corridor is a neighborhood and office submarket in the Dallas, Texas area. Beginning just north of Interstate 635 in north Dallas, the corridor hugs the Dallas North Tollway for 13.7 miles (22.0 km) north to State Highway 121 in Frisco. It runs through the cities of Dallas, Farmers Branch, Addison, Plano, and Frisco.
In 1988, Homart, a then-subsidiary of Sears, planned to develop a million-square foot mall in Frisco, which consisted of roughly 6,000 people at the time. [2]When Plano city officials learned of Homart's plan, they offered $10 million if the company decided to move its planned mall across Texas Route 121 into their city limits.

The tolled portion extended to Hillcrest Road in Plano/Frisco on August 31, 2008. The tollway was extended to Custer Road on September 1, 2009, and again to Hardin Boulevard in McKinney on October 1, 2009.
From 2013 to 2021, the district represented suburban areas north and northeast of Dallas. It encompassed much of Collin County, including McKinney, Plano, and the majority of Frisco, as well as a portion of the city of Dallas. The district was also home to the public college Collin College, and the Frisco campus of the University of North Texas.
