The Tam O'Shanter Inn (colloquially known as The Tam) is one of Los Angeles' oldest restaurants. Established in 1922, it serves hearty pub fare with a touch of Scottish flair, and is known for its prime rib and Yorkshire pudding. The 1793 two volume Edinburgh Edition was published, much enlarged and for the first time containing the poem Tam o' Shanter. [11] The poem had already appeared in The Edinburgh Herald, 18 March 1791; the Edinburgh Magazine, March 1791 and in the second volume of Francis Grose's Antiquities of Scotland of 1791 for which it was originally written.
