Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (often abbrevriated as SIA) is an automobile assembly plant in Lafayette, Indiana, United States, which began as "Subaru-Isuzu Automotive, Inc.", a joint venture between Subaru Corporation and Isuzu Motors Ltd. According to the 2020 U.S. census, the parish had a population of 241,753, [1] up from 221,578 at the 2010 United States census. [2] The parish seat and largest city is Lafayette. [3] The parish was founded in 1823. [4]
In 2010, [17] the U.S. Census Bureau reported there were 273,738 people, 89,536 households, and 61,826 families residing within metropolitan Lafayette. From 2010 to 2015, the Lafayette metropolitan area outpaced the Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan area in North Louisiana by population, becoming the third largest metropolitan area in the state.
