Urdu Daira Maarif Islamiya or Urdu Encyclopaedia of Islam (Urdu: اردو دائرہ معارف اسلامیہ) is the largest Islamic encyclopedia published in Urdu by University of the Punjab. Originally it is a translated, expanded and revised version of Encyclopedia of Islam. Its composition began in the 1950s at University of the Punjab.
Bahar-e-Shariat (Urdu: بہارِ شریعت; 1939) is an encyclopedia of Islamic fiqh (jurisprudence), according to the Hanafi school. Spreading over 20 volumes, Seventeen of its volumes were written by Amjad Ali Aazmi, a disciple of Ahmed Raza Khan. The final three books were compiled by his disciples after his death.

The scope of EI3 includes comprehensive coverage of Islam in the twentieth century; expansion of geographical focus to include all areas where Islam has been or is a prominent or dominant aspect of society; attention to Muslim minorities all over the world; and full attention to social science as well as humanistic perspectives. The project was officially initiated in 1965 and a wide number of Islamic scholars contributed through its completion in 2005 (in approximately 40 years). The Encyclopedia of Islamic Jurisprudence (Mausua Fiqhiya Kuwaitiya) was prepared in alphabetical order and published in 45 volumes reaching about 17,650 pages.
The word ‘Integrated’ indicates that the encyclopedia essays all themes, persons, things, places, and events mentioned in the Qur'an. [2] IEQ was then reconfigured as an open-access online work. The online edition consists of 515 articles which cover all concepts, persons, places, events and things mentioned in the Qurʾān.
This encyclopedia has significant notes, four dozen full-scale and unique multi-color maps. Apart from Muhammad and the earliest Muslims, the encyclopedia also explores the lives of prominent figures from modern Islamic history like Jamaluddin Al-Afghani, Muhammad Iqbal, Syed Abul A’la Mawdudi, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas and Hassan Al-Banna.
