Hasmukh Chandulal Patel (7 December 1933 – 20 January 2018) [1] was an architect credited with making significant contributions to contemporary architecture in India in a career spanning over four decades in the latter half of 20th century.
After receiving his first professional degree in architecture from CEPT in 1984 and a year of work in Ahmedabad, Patel moved to Berkeley to study at the College of Environmental Design, CED. He graduated with M.Arch . and M.C.P . degrees in 1988 and a Ph.D. from the Department of City and Regional Planning in 1995.
He retired as a full-time professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 2017, where he served for about 36 years. [2] [3] He was a member of the governing board at the National Innovation Foundation. [4] He is also a fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. [5]
