The Berkley School District (branded as Berkley Schools) is a public school district in Metro Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan, serving Berkley, Huntington Woods, and a portion of Oak Park. [2] As of 2011, the district served roughly 4,000 students. [3]
Berkley High School has been accredited by the Michigan North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement since the 1928–29 school year. [ 7 ] As of the 2012–13 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,250 students and 74.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 18.1.
The school district includes four elementary schools (Angell, Burton, Pattengill, and Rogers), one Kindergarten-8th grade school (Norup International), one middle school (Anderson), and one high school (Berkley High School). From 2008 to 2016, Berkley High School has been named by Newsweek on its list of 1,000 Best High Schools in the nation.
