Phill Grimshaw (1 February 1950 – 27 July 1998) was an English typeface designer and calligrapher who designed dozens of fonts for Letraset and the International Typeface Corporation (ITC) in the 1980s and 1990s.
He has released commercial fonts with Village, FontFont, Emigre, House Industries and Font Bureau. Many of Schwartz's typefaces have been proprietary designs for corporations such as Bosch and Deutsche Bahn, both with noted designer Erik Spiekermann, and EMI, for the marketing of George Harrison’s posthumous final album.
After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1997, he worked at Font Bureau in Boston as Senior Type Designer [8] [9] until founding his own type foundry, Occupant Fonts, in 2016, distributing alongside his former employers via the Type Network service. [10] [11]
