    The definitions given do not make sense or correlate with common use. A step uncle should be a step-parent's sibling (this definition isn't even included). It doesn't really make sense that whether or not an aunt or uncle is a "step" is based on whether or not you already have cousins. This is an unnecessary redefining of the term.
