UFL is a free-to-play football video game developed and published by Strikerz Inc. Initially scheduled for release in 2022 and 2023, the game was released to the public on consoles only on 5 December 2024, with the PC release estimated to be coming around the first half of 2025.
The computer then ran the plays against each other, using the pre-configured abilities of the teams and players picked. There was no interaction once the play was called, other than making a decision to accept or deny a penalty if called. This made for an abstract game, unlike others where the player actually participated in the offense or defense.
First announced on July 22, 2021, the game is intended to compete with the FIFA & eFootball series of video games, with a focus on responsiveness over fidelity. The game will feature cross-platform play, for Microsoft Windows, MacOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S platforms.

In February 2023, another update to the game was released where Retro Bowl added a new mode called "Exhibition Mode" to allow players to pick 2 of any of the 32 NFL teams and play a game whether against the CPU or with a friend. On June 23, 2023, Retro Bowl+ was released on Apple Arcade as the base game with the unlimited version at no extra cost.
Backbreaker uses an "on the field" camera view much closer to the player than other football video games. Several game modes in Backbreaker can also be played as local or online multi-player over the Internet.
