The Ikenberry North neighborhood contains six halls: Barton, Lundgren, Hopkins, Weston, Nugent, and the newest hall, Wassaja. Barton and Lundgren opened in 1941 while Hopkins was built in 1958 (Weston, along with Scott and Snyder, opened in 1961 [35]). Half of Nugent Hall opened in 2010, and construction was completed on Nugent Hall in 2012.

Ikenberry (born March 3, 1935) is an American academic who served as the 14th president of the University of Illinois System from 1979 to 1995 and again as the 17th president on an interim basis in 2010. Ikenberry was responsible for a major consolidate of university campuses and new student initiatives.
