Castletroy (Irish: Caladh an Treoigh, meaning O'Troy's Landing or O'Troy's Callow) [2] is a suburb of Limerick, Ireland. The town was named after Castle Troy also known as the Black Castle, which is located on the southern bank of the River Shannon, roughly 2 km east of the University of Limerick.
There are three golf clubs associated with Limerick city. Limerick Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is located at Ballyclough, 5 kilometres (3 mi) due south of the city centre. Castletroy Golf Club was founded in 1937 and is located in the suburb of Castletroy in the southwest of the city.
William Moore (born 1950) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Limerick senior hurling team. [1]Moore made his first appearance for the team during the 1971 championship and became a regular player over the next few seasons.
