The many operatives of the Red Ribbon Army, led by Commander Red (レッド総帥, Reddo-Sōsui), serve as opponents for series protagonist Goku during his second quest for the Dragon Balls.
Krillin later appears in a flashback after Frieza intends to provoke the wild Saiyan, Broly, into becoming a Super Saiyan, remembering the time that he murdered Krillin that sparked Goku's own transformation on Namek. He then promptly kills Broly's father, Paragus, in order to initiate the transformation in Broly, who was fighting Goku at the time.
