The City of Dunwoody has a Council-Manager form of government. There are six Councilmembers and one Mayor who make up the Council as a whole. Each member of Council represents one of three districts in Dunwoody. Posts 1, 2, and 3 are positions that are voted upon by citizens from within the district the Councilmember will be representing.
The next City of Dunwoody election is in November 2025. Three Dunwoody City Council positions will be on the ballot: Council Post 1 (District 1 Local), Council Post 2 (District 2 Local), and Council Post 3 (District 3 Local). Candidates must be registered and qualified to vote.

The qualifying period for Dunwoody’s at-large and mayoral elections ended Aug. 23, with only two of the races being contested – District 4 and District 5. The mayoral race and District 6 are uncontested, meaning Mayor Lynn Deutsch and Dist. 6 Councilman John Heneghan will retain their seats.

City officials reported four incumbents and two other candidates will appear on city ballots in the election on Nov. 7, 2023. Councilwoman Stacey Harris will defend the Post 4 seat against challenger Chris Ozor, while Post 5 Councilman Joe Seconder will face off against Marianella Lopez.
