The Texas State University main campus is located in San Marcos, Texas, midway between Austin and San Antonio along Interstate 35.
Established in 1968, Texas State's business school was originally known as the College of Business Administration. Following a $20 million gift from local businessman and wife Emmett and Miriam McCoy in 2004, the school was formally renamed the Emmett and Miriam McCoy College of Business Administration. [1]

During the 2010-11 academic year, the University Star celebrated its 100th anniversary. At the end of April 2010, the newspaper held a reunion, bringing together both Star staff and alumni from across the country. [4] Also in 2010, the San Marcos City Council declared April 26 through May 1 as University Star Week in San Marcos. [5]
